The basics on how Making Ways works.
What is Making Ways and who do we serve?+
Making Ways is a community-led nonprofit in Maxton, NC serving children, youth, and families. Everyone is welcome, no matter their background, and our programs are built around what local families actually need.
What programs and services does Making Ways offer?+
Our After-School Program offers homework help, literacy and math support, technology and STEM, arts and enrichment, life skills and leadership, and social-emotional wellness. We also run Summer Camp, community events, meals, field trips, and mentoring.
How do I register my child for the After-School Program or Summer Camp?+
Go to the After-School Program page or the Summer Camp page and fill out the registration form there. Please complete one form for each child. A team member will follow up to confirm your spot and share details.
What ages or grade levels are eligible to participate?+

A safe, supportive, and engaging space. Children get academic support, hands-on activities, caring mentors, and encouragement — so they grow in confidence, skills, and positive relationships.
How can I volunteer with Making Ways?+
Visit the Volunteer Opportunities page to see the roles we need and fill out the sign-up form right on that page. Whether you can give one afternoon or every week, there is a place for you.

Donations pay for the everyday things that keep programs running: snacks and meals, school and art supplies, technology, field trips, and summer camp costs for families who need help.
What is the difference between making a donation and becoming a sponsor?+
A donation is a one-time or monthly gift of any amount. A sponsorship is a larger commitment to support a specific program, event, or season, and sponsors can be recognized on our Sponsors page.
Can businesses, churches, organizations, and individuals become sponsors?+
Yes. On the Donate page, choose Become a sponsor and tell us whether you are a business, church, organization, or individual. A team member will contact you with next steps and payment information.
Who should I contact if I have questions about programs, donations, sponsorships, or partnerships?+
